Turkesterone
Turkesterone I Andrew Huberman and Joe Rogan interview
Description
Turkesterone, otherwise known as Ajuga Turkestanica Extract, is a form of ecdysteroid.
Ecdysteroids are naturally occurring steroid hormones found in plants and insects.
Research has shown them to be highly effective at building muscle and enhancing performance and recovery.
Turkesterone may help with increasing lean muscle mass, muscle recovery and strength via multiple biological processes.
Turkesterone works via a completely different mechanism than other anabolic agents; it works independently from testosterone – it works via the Estrogen-Beta 2 receptor which means taking Turk is not going to have any negative down-regulation effects on the bodies own (endogenous) testosterone production ; No HPA-T Axis disruption.
Turk has a multitude of benefits beyond the above mentioned, read on below…
Benefits Breakdown
-
Muscle Growth & Repair
Turkesterone being an ecdysteroid , has been shown to improve muscular growth and repair via increased muscle synthesis. Unlike pharmacetical steroids, Turkesterone acts to significantly improve muscular growth & repair without the negative effects of conventional steroids. In fact, through it’s effect on ER-beta, IGF-1 and AKT pathway, Turkesterone can stimulate muscle protein synthesis by up to 20% (1)
-
Muscular Strength & Performance
Turkesterone has been shown to improve circulation, nitric oxidid, reduce cortisol, reduce myostatin (a inflammatory cytokine that slows muscle growth) as well as stimulates IGF-1 and growth hormone. All of which helps you lift heavier and perform better (2).
-
Liver & Kidney Health
Unlike conventional steroids which often damage the liver & kidneys. Turkesterone has no damaging affects on either organs. In fact, studies have shown it to help with normalizing glomerular levels in the filtration of the kidney (which is a good thing). As well as improve liver health by increasing the conversion of cholesterol into bile which aids in fat matabolism and liver regeneration (3)
-
Brain Health
Turkesterone has been shown to improve brain health via its ability to increase levels of super oxide dismutase (SOD) andvascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) as well as angigenesis and neurological recovery (4)
Dosage Instructions:
How much to take:
While there’s a no definitive guidelines as to exact dosages. Most people recommend anywhere between 1000mg to 2000mg a day, split into 2 doses. For those just starting out we recommend starting with a smaller dose and building up. We recommend starting with 500mg x2 a day and building up to the dose, dose is also dependent on body weight and physical activity
When to take:
You can take turlkesterone whenever you like. However we suggest taking it in two doses morning and afternoon.
Side Effects?
There are no known side effects of Turkesterone. A small percentage of people with histamine intolerance may encounter reactions to this product.
